This quilt is one of my favorites!
I made this quilt from vintage velvet scraps that a hat maker in New Jersey was throwing out.
I found this box on the side of the road, waiting to be picked up by the garbage men.
As I drove by I could see a little piece of velvet sticking out and immediately hit the brakes,
and got out to investigate.
(I can spot a piece of velvet a mile away...)
In the box I found the most amazing pieces of colored velvet!
It was the score of the century...really!!
So I made this quilt using my modified log cabin technique
and it is definitely one of my all time favorites!!
