I decided to dig into my stash of beautiful men's shirts and create a quilt for the main entrance of our house! I'm actually making a quilt for us this time!!

We just moved and the entryway of our house extends up to the second floor and there is a big blank wall that smacks you in the face when you first walk in.
Perfect place for a quilt!
So I'm making this quilt by cutting strips and piecing them together as I sew!

The fun part of this quilt is that I cut the strips to my desired length but the width varies.
You can see thicker and thinner strips all sewn together which will create such an awesome look when it's completely sewn together.

The most important part is to square each section before you put it on your design wall. The strips look uneven, which they are, but when they are sewn into a section, the section itself is squared.

That way your quilt won't shift and get all crazy when you get to the bigger pieced sections!!
