Today I'm still cutting... lots and lots of strips!
This commission is for four Memory Quilts made from men's shirts
for a family in Ohio.
This quilt will be made with cotton woven shirts as
well as a bunch of knits including
sweaters, polos and golf shirts.
These new pics are of a knit vest that I am including which has to be fused to a backing
before I can cut the strips.
Make sure you fuse your piece BEFORE you cut your pattern
so it doesn't shift and create ripples on the edges...
so it doesn't shift and create ripples on the edges...
It's actually a pretty thick knit so I used a very thin woven interfacing...
I'm also including some fabric from a pair of Boston University shorts, which is very meaningful to the family. These shorts are a really thin knit, so I'm using a thicker interfacing.
You can see how awesome they look after fused and cut!
